nostr.watch

nostr.watch has been in maintenance mode for over a year. It was born in late 2022 as a prototype, and shortly thereafter was heavily responsible for bootstrapping nostr's first large wave of users during Jack's wave. It has served over 1M unique visits and tracked well over 2000 relays through their entire lifecycle. The API has served 200M hits to ~100 apps, survived 3 DDoS attacks with 99.998% uptime and continues to serve clients to this day.

Due to a number of personal occurrences in 2023, the growth of the site was severely stunted as my attention was drawn elsewhere. At the end of 2023 however, OpenSats awarded me a grant and I've been working to bring protocol-level relay liveness data to nostr, effectively decentralizing and democratizing relay liveness data. This challenge is different in nature to that of legacy nostr.watch, but is far more in line with what I originally wanted to build. That said, the resolution of these challenges enable the next nostr.watch, and I'm getting closer every day.

Unfortunately what this means is that I do not have the time or energy to maintain and respond to messages I receive regarding nostr.watch legacy, which have grown increasingly negative and degrading. If you would like to stay up to date, follow me on nostr. Otherwise, the legacy version is still accessible, please agree to usage guidelines to continue.
